The Product Application Manager for Claros Process Management (CPM) is responsible to develop product features and product specifications that lead to the delivery of high-quality product offerings. This role requires good cross-functional networking skills, building professional relationships based on trust, accountability, and business acumen, alongside acting as the “voice of the customer” when communicating and presenting during internal Agile project meetings.

Therefore, the Product Application Manager is responsible for understanding and communicating the functionality and benefits of the Claros digital solutions overall and CPM product offerings. This includes ensuring that customer facing parts of the business have the details they need around the software products to ensure that successful outcomes are achieved.


Based on company strategy and priorities:

  • Work with the CPM Product Manager, Claros Application Development Managers (ADM), Sales and Marketing to understand project business cases and required deliverables.

  • Partner with Product Management, Product Application Manager, Sales and Marketing, Hach Research and Development (R&D) associates and Third-Party software supplier to create and execute higher standards for well-executed portfolio planning to ultimately drive commercial growth for the current portfolio and future platform.

  • Proficiently understand CPM strategy and roadmap, and effectively execute a plan for delivering product features and the benefit that they will provide.

  • Maintain and prioritize a backlog to deliver digital solutions product offerings and features, that meet customer needs, in an efficient manner and meet agreed timelines by R&D and our Third-Party software supplier.

  • Determine the best outcome where there may be conflicting stakeholder requirements and priorities to deliver the maximum benefit for Hach and customers.

To deliver the core responsibilities it is expected that the Product Application Manager will:

  • Provide domain expertise for key business areas to facilitate the production of high-quality digital solutions deliverables.

  • Work and communicate well with Product Management and R&D stakeholders to understand customer and market existing needs and future product utilization.

  • Define new CPM modules and features in alignment with Product Manager, Claros Application Development Manager, Sales and Marketing, and to develop software specifications, meeting customer requirements and ensuring cost effective implementation.

  • Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clearly understood to enable projects to proceed within agreed scope and timelines.

  • Find and evaluate new technologies that can be used to address requirements/use cases.

  • Ensure functionality, security and usability are appropriately balanced to optimize the customer experience when using Hach digital solutions product offerings.

  • Drive New Product Development (NPD) Funnel and Maintenance projects leveraging Third-Party software supplier and meeting Hach Software development standards.

  • Act as negotiator for defect resolution and participate in Maintenance Funnel meetings with Third-Party Software supplier.

  • Provide technical support for commercial CPM Product Management enabling to drive product commercialization.

  • Drive awareness and provide technical support and training on new CPM modules and features for Claros ADMs, Sales, Industrial Sales and Key Account teams.

  • Use Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools as appropriate to lead the delivery of high-quality digital solution product offerings.

  • Produce functional and non-functional requirements for product development and ensure they are implemented to deliver the required level of customer satisfaction.


  • BS or BA in Engineering, Computer Science, or the Sciences required.

  • Minimum 5 years of application experience in instrumentation and control supporting municipal and industrial water treatment

  • Competent in obtaining requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, drive tactics, and provide leadership in highly dynamic, ambiguous, and complex environments.

  • Ability to present highly complex, technical, or difficult messages clearly and persuasively.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex issues to drive new product development impact in low vitality and large, global business environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate situations and articulate the critical few needs to drive impact.

  • Demonstrated skill at navigating a global cross-discipline team with ability to clearly prioritize and manage finite resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders with few, less formal touch points and communicate effectively at a global scale.

  • Broad and expert knowledge of the Hach Company marketplace, customer applications, and use of Hach products in the market.

  • Broad and deep understanding of Voice of Customer research methodologies and applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills as required.
