Position Summary:
XOS is seeking a Quality Engineer, who will be responsible for identifying gaps and implementing changes to XOS’ Quality Management System processes and documentation to drive long term and sustainable quality improvements. The immediate focus will be in documenting the processes necessary for enhanced production control, product/process validation, design controls and product requirements. While quality investigation and resolution of warranty claims are not part of the scope of this role, the individual in this role will have the opportunity to analyze quality data to identify process deficiencies and opportunities for long-term quality improvements. Responsibilities:
Take a lead role on auditing XOS QMS to find gaps and implementing countermeasures to make XOS QMS more robust.
Proactively ensure that XOS team has the appropriate competencies, capabilities, and attitudes as it relates to the Quality Management System and recommending addressing any deficiencies through associate training and development
Work closely with the existing Quality team to review quality data to identify process failures or opportunities for long-term improvement to the Quality Management System.
Work with the Purchasing Team to improve XOS’s Quality Management System as it relates vendor quality, including processes for visits and communication with new and qualified production to address and resolve quality issues
Provide training of relevant DBS tools to associates.
Qualifications:
Required Skills / Experience:
Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
Has ability to objectively review/audit processes and find/close gaps to improve XOS Quality
Has strong problem-solving skills and is detail and process oriented
Possesses a proactive, self-learner mindset
Has a strong sense of urgency and understands the impact of quality on the success of the entire organization
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and escalate or resolve issues appropriately.
Experience with improving Manufacturing Process Control and driving process capability
Experience working in an ISO:9001 and/or other regulated environment(s)
Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
Desired Skills / Experience:
3 years’ experience in quality related discipline
Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
Strong familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint
Change Management Skills
Trained ISO Auditor
Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
Travel Requirements:
<10% of travel required for the position
