Exciting things are happening in our manufacturing facilities! We are implementing new automation and are seeking an I&C Technician to help with this project and others at our plant in Eldridge, Iowa.

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician will be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of equipment! You will also perform duties on electrical, PVC pipe, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics and other equipment.


  • Assist with plant-wide preventative maintenance program emphasizing on I&C issues and needs.

  • General maintenance and repair of all types of specialized equipment specific to plant operations. Manage and maintain equipment according to work instructions or preventive maintenance tasks

  • Troubleshooting of all current and future automation at the Iowa site

  • Design, build, cost analysis and/or implementation of future automation projects as needed.

  • Follow company safety policies including safe operation of equipment, PPE usage, hand tool safety, lock-out-tag-out, and proper storage of tools, etc. and compliance with good housekeeping policies.

  • Contractor Management when an outside vendor is used

  • Suggest improvements and support kaizen and DBS activities

  • Accurately perform required computer data entry; attention to detail is a critical function. Report complicated equipment malfunctions to supervision

  • Participate in team meetings, which include planning daily work and resource utilization, problem solving, project work, etc

  • Cross-train on other equipment, crafts, or other areas as needed

Are you qualified?

  • Associate degree or Trade School Certification in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Systems or Applied Science preferred (training and knowledge of electrical safety is important)

  • 5+ years' proven experience in electrical/mechanical engineering, automation, or controls

  • Working understanding of MCC’s, PLC’s, VFD’s, motor starters and holding circuits

  • Cat5e / data standard methodologies, punch down and testing knowledge

  • Proven interpersonal skills and high Attention to detail
