About the Sales Development Manager role:
The primary role of this position is to develop new business in Key Initiatives in different Verticals (Muni and Industry). We are looking for a sales professional to develop and boost our business, 100% of your time will be spend in developing and growing our business. For this role we are looking for a self-starting professional who has the capabilities to hunt for new business.
The Sales Development Manager (SDM) or Business Development Manager works directly with the Sales Manager Industry and Muni + the respective sales teams in Benelux and advances funnel additions in different sales regions.
The SDM plays a key role in new application development, product launches, seller productivity improvement and the sharing of knowledge across the sales organization.
This is a high-impact, seasoned sales position critical to the successful deployment of Hach’s corporate strategy as well as leading and sustaining high levels of productivity across their assigned regions.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Strong partnership with Sales Manager Industry/Muni and Sales Engineers to develop target business which aligns closely with Hach’s growth initiatives
Generate sales opportunities within assigned target business areas, qualifying new contact persons or accounts for HACH.
Capability to reach customers which have not been reached before: cold calling.
Is not afraid to try and approach new customers with the risk of failing. When you fail, you adapt your plan and try again.
To support the sales teams by accompanying Sales on customer visits
To identify potential areas for new business by utilizing existing solutions and target growth potential for process solution development. Drive growth of Hach equipment sales in support of strategic solutions strategy
To liaise with management to provide detailed forecasts and action plans for the growth of the business.
Collects and reports information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, sales trends and results within the assigned markets.
Organizing and leading lunch and learns with end-users, system integrators, and E&C firms
Intensive travel required in Benelux
4 years of professional sales experience in B2B consultative and/or solution selling
Exposure to complex sales processes or large account selling
As a minimum a technical Bachelors degree or business related bachelor degree with technical affinity.
Strong commercial acumen and communication skills required to navigate complex sales and consultative selling situations. Broad experience in sales and marketing or business development
Experience (water instrumentation) in Muni and industrial markets is preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ideally living centrally in the Benelux region
Must be willing and able to travel extensively in Benelux and occasionally EU
Dutch, English and preferably French language skills in spoken and written form
