Danaher Corporation Technical Support Specialist in EN Son, Netherlands


  • Provide phone and e-mail technical support for Cepheid products to internal and external customers (end-users and distributors across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia)

  • Filter, log and handle incoming requests from internal and external customers

  • Document all support activities into the complaints management system

  • Follows procedures set forth in ISO regulations

  • Escalates complaints to the Technical Support Manager as necessary

  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Technical Support Manager

  • You will work from our Cepheid office and will be based in 1 of these 2 locations: Geel (Belgium), Amsterdam (The Netherlands)


Education and Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience ( experience.Studies) OR Master’s degree in field with 0-2 years of related work

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Virology/Microbiological Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Scientist for Virology/Microbiology in a hospital or commercial clinical laboratory.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge and application of commercial computer application packages (MS Office, etc.)

  • Fluent Dutch and English (any additional language would be an advantage - German, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian)

  • Customer oriented – understands customer expectations and empathizes with customer& patient needs

  • Familiarity with SalesForce.com (or similar CRM System) a plus

  • Laboratory or Technical Support Experience in one or more of the following preferred:o PCR and Microbiology, Molecular Biology Oncology or Virologyo Patient sample collection practices and workflowo Sample preparation practices and methodologieso Laboratory analytical diagnostic equipment, medical devices and software

  • Able to follow complex procedures and processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Curious & self-motivated with ability to learn a complex technology platform quickly

  • Proactively analyzes complex problems, draw conclusions and propose precise actionplans

  • Works independently in a structured manner with the ability to prioritize critical tasks

  • Builds collaborative work relationships with different teams, including Field Service,Sales, Marketing and Quality.


  • Flexible to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary

  • Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced, and constantly changing environment

  • May include extended computer and telephone work involving repetitive arm/wristmotions

  • May include occasional overnight travel


Fluent Dutch and English (any additional language would be an advantage - German, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian)
