About the Opportunity

The Sedaru team is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and release Company’s flagship data-intensive SaaS application suites in microservices framework to realize the company mission of One water One Platform.

The Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor (no direct reports) that provides senior-level technical leadership and hands-on implementation in designing, building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting AQI software products.

This position involves a combination of requirements analysis, functional specification, work estimation, design, and production quality programming.

The Senior Software Engineer will drive key feature definition and development that meets the objectives of the product roadmap and other strategic objectives, in some cases providing the above deliverables, and in other cases serving as a technical leader helping team(s) successfully deliver them.

This position will also involve working with Engineering leadership and Product Management to establish high level product strategy and priorities. This is primarily an internal-facing role, but there will also be some participation in technical discussions with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from epics, user stories and/or high-level use cases to create and influence product-level functional designs, working closely with product managers, UX designers, other engineers, and customers

  • Lead and participate in the design, programming and testing of new AI software features and/or entire products.

  • Be a productive and effective member of an agile development team. Lead sometimes, influence or follow at others

  • Provide effort, complexity and risk estimation for new features or changes

  • Perform architectural and object-oriented design, review and implementation of production-quality features and tests

  • Interview, assess and help choose new team members

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other software engineers

  • Stay current with new technologies, design patterns and best practices.

  • Lead or assist in effectively diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with the product.Serve as primary expert on multiple product areas.

  • Participate in projects from inception discussing architecture to very final touches.

  • Self-starter and constantly keeps up with the latest development and engineering trends.

  • Team player with good communication skills and desire to share knowledge with others.

  • Produce high-quality results by leading or contributing heavily to large cross-functional projects that have a significant impact on the business.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, environmental/water science, engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

    Experience:

  • Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining large scale, multi-user internet applications

  • Use Cases and Requirements Analysis

  • Microsoft & Java technologies for application development, testing and production/runtime

  • Coding. Lots of it. Extensive experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks

  • AWS or Azure Infrastructure as a Service

  • Architectural Design

  • Object Oriented Design

  • Database Design

  • Designing and building scalable and secure, online services

  • Agile and Test-Driven Development.

  • Continuous delivery

  • Technical Leadership – helping others design and deliver great software

Essential Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Strong Angular/TypeScript/JS/Python programming skills. C# is a plus.

  • Microservices: API Development & Testing (knowledge of Postman is a plus).

  • SDLC: Agile-based Software Development Life Cycle.

  • TDD: Test-Driven Development (TDD) across all apps.

  • Processes and Tools for Continuous Improvement.

  • Outstanding English communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Passion for using data to solve challenging, real-world problems.

  • Self-starter with excellent design and analysis skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of an agile team.

  • Ability to interview and assess potential new hires

  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members

  • Ability to establish work priorities, effectively multi-task and balance varying demands.

  • Dedication to keeping up to date with current trends and best practices.

The salary range for this role is $101,200 - 140K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
