What you’ll do
As a Strategy Leader for Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) business you will own the end-to-end strategic process - from vision through execution - to achieve sustainable growth within CGT.
Assist in aggressively growing the size of the business over the next three to five years through a combination of above-industry organic growth and strategically attractive acquisitions that will deliver strong returns on capital.
Create a growth strategy and road map for the CGT business; including investments required to the achieve strategic plan. Own the CGT part of the Danaher/ Cytiva Strat Plan process.
Direct market research and customer studies necessary to understand customer needs.
Prioritize global market segment requirements, perform gap analysis to current Cytiva portfolio, and define strategic and tactical stops to best position segment for accelerated growth.
Identify and explore new and adjacent technologies; Structure external partnerships to develop and produce technologies necessary to achieve business unit growth and profitability goals.
Develop intellectual property (IP) protection strategy and partner with legal team to aggressively defend our IP.
Work closely with rest of CGT leadership team to support a wide range of business development activities, including mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and alliances.
Collaborate closely with Cytiva Business Development Leadership and Danaher M&A team; support due diligence activities, M&A strategy and post-acquisition implementations. Continue to build a strong M&A funnel.
Partner with and leverage internal and external subject matter experts and other resources to evaluate opportunities and drive to informed decisions
Develop thought leadership on industry trends both emerging and established to ensure business is aligned to capitalize and establish a market leadership position.
Cultivate mid- near- and long-term target relationships with acquisition targets. The successful candidate will become the expert on adjacent and growth spaces.
Build a small team with subject matter expertise to perform market analysis, identifying targets, supporting due diligence efforts etc.
Reports to Vice President of Cell & Gene Therapy and part of the CGT Leadership team.
Who you are
Master and/or Bachelor's Degree in technology (engineering / sciences) and top-tier MBA with 8-10 years of consulting & healthcare industry experience.
3-5 years in a top-tier consulting firm or equivalent experience focused on market analysis and/or growth/strategy commercial project; or an investment firm including PE or VC, or equivalent experience
Substantial experience and/or formal education that has allowed the development of a deep understanding of a domain and/or industry resulting in key customer insights and empathy. Strong financial acumen is essential for success in the role.
Participated in 1-5 closed outside or inside diligence projects.
Ability to work within a matrix organizational environment and to interact with executives at the most senior levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex business issues.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.
