Position Overview

Provide support to manufacturing and packaging operations to assure continuous efficiency. Ensures overall process performance to design capability. Provide effective engineering services to production, test and packaging machinery. Also, assist in the design and implementation plans for cost reduction, quality improvements, process support and verification.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs conventional engineering assignments and solutions that may involve equipment or product design, test of materials, specification preparation, process study, research investigations, and other related tasks to improve productivity, reduce scrap and/or other business unit goals

  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work to reduce waste

  • Initiates documentations change requests and explain design and process deviation needs, including Risk Assessments, Engineering Studies and/or Validation Protocols to meet required regulations

  • Identify, develop and execute cost reduction and process improvements ideas into projects with the assistance of local and corporate departments

  • Provide training and qualify key production and maintenance personnel in equipment troubleshooting, acceptance criteria, product knowledge and reliability for day-to-day situations assuring a better time management to address long-term business goals

  • Ensures the production commitments and efficiency by providing problem analysis, testing and implementing corrective and preventive action plans

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networking links, benchmarking standard methodologies throughout the industry and participating in professional organizations

  • Provides to team effort by accomplishing related results; keeping business information confidential; coordinating the system security; ensuring data accuracy and integrity; assuring systems compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards; ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

  • Follows QRS, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures

  • Ensure that EMS (Environmental Management Systems) is efficiently implemented and maintenance with the area of operations

  • Lead continual improvement projects to reduce, minimize or eliminate environmental aspects/impacts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Three (3) to five (5) years in the manufacturing environment, preferably Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries

  • Active member CIAPR

  • Master Degree in Engineering, preferred

  • EIT or PE License, preferred

  • Good oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish)

  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, Project Management, Statistics)

  • Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Excellent skills in problem solving and critical thinking techniques

  • Knowledge in OSHA, FDA, ISO, GMP regulations relative to manufacturing operations
