The External Communications and Social Media Specialist is part of the Commercial Department located in Fargo and will be hybrid or fully remote. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Communications team and report to the Senior Director of Communications and be responsible for the execution of integrated external communications and public relations strategies and activities, with a high emphasis on social media. This position will focus on key business priorities to build Aldevron’s brand and reputation in the marketplace, working across teams including Marketing, Commercial/Sales, and Executive Leadership.
Develop integrated external communications strategies focused on key business priorities and executing strategy and plans across priority campaigns to build our brand in the marketplace, resulting in a marked change and influence. Includes the need to recruit and maintain relevant, engaged audiences across social media platforms.
Define and implement an editorial plan that reflects the overall positioning of Aldevron, actively creating and executing content across earned, owned, and paid media, utilizing a segmentation model to ensure that messaging can be targeted to relevant individuals, prospects, current customers, and industry leaders.
Create, curate, respond to, and manage all public and published content including but not limited to images, videos, written word, graphics, & presentations.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of external communications and social media programs and initiatives, using established metrics and key performance indicators reports. Track, report, and develop action plans, if necessary, to meet or exceed expectations.
Build and maintain strong relationships, open communication, and a coordinated consistent presence with relevant national, trade and local media across industry and business categories as an individual and with support of Aldevron’s PR agency.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as journalism, communications, English, public relations, marketing.
3+ years of experience in external communications, social media management, strategic communications, or public relations with demonstrated success.
Experience building strategic communication plans from ideation to measurement/evaluation with the ability to derive strategic insights from performance/impact analytics; leveraging insights to drive program and organizational effectiveness.
Demonstrated experience creating content: including the written word, video visual communications, graphics etc. with the strong ability to turn complex information into relevant, engaging, and valuable content for diverse audiences that is shared across all communications channels.
The full Microsoft suite of products, Adobe Creative Cloud (skills with design and video editing a plus).
A biotech or science-related field such as molecular biology, molecular diagnostics, or cell and gene therapy.
Adeptly managing many priorities simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize independently.
Embracing new approaches, ideas technology and social channels with the specific intent to use these new ideas to best help Aldevron reach its goals.
