Job Description:

The GMP-S Biomanufacturing Operator works daily within Aldevron’s manufacturing areas, performing tasks associated with Aldevron’s GMP-Source plasmid DNA production services. This role focuses specifically on bacterial cell growth, including transformation, subculture,   cell banking,   fermentation, shake   flask growth, wave growth, and harvest.


  • Plan and submit inventory requisitions 

  • Plan and preparation of production events and process plan memos 

  • Coordinate production events with buffer preparation operators

  • Perform upstream production events  

  • Complete all documentation associated with GMP projects 

  • Coordination and sample submission with Quality Control  

  • Assist in writing manufacturing summary reports after project completion 

  • Participate and support in Aldevron’s internal audit program and provide requested information and respond to findings presented in the audit report 

  • Follow Aldevron SOP’s and adhere to regulatory expectations 


  • With a high school diploma, at least one year of technical laboratory experience in a regulated environment

  • A.S. or B.S. in life science degree preferred

Work Conditions / Physical Requirements:

This position works in a clinical lab setting and may come in contact with various solutions and chemicals and will be responsible for activities related to biological processes such as bacterial growth. This position uses standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, glass ware, shake flasks, fermenters, fume hoods, and computers.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and use arms, hands and fingers for various activities. This position may stand or remain sedentary for long periods of time. This position routinely works with large pieces of equipment.
