The Lab Technician I will work daily within Aldevron’s labs performing tasks associated with Aldevron’s Research Grade (RG) services. The Lab Technician I will be expected to assist Biomanufacturing Operators as needed and should be familiar with Aldevron’s processes.
Perform various tasks in accordance with Aldevron Standard Operating Procedures.
Complete work independently under daily direction from the Production Supervisor(s).
Complete training plan developed by the Production Supervisor and maintain personal training file.
Perform daily and weekly checklists of facility maintenance and upkeep tasks.
Organization and planning of Buffer Preparation area.
Assist with fermentor vessel and column cleaning and column resin preparation and packing.
General overview of chemical needs and re-stocking.
Weekly checking of working inventory level and requesting more consumables as needed. Submitting warehouse requisition requests. Transferring materials and restocking inventory as needed.
Detailed, thorough cleaning of production areas and associated equipment while wearing appropriate PPE.
Work with Metrology and Department Manager on scheduling facility maintenance.
Clean equipment and supplies.
Complete all in-process paperwork associated with the tasks listed.
Communicate the status of operations, process issues, and safety and maintenance issues to appropriate area management.
Coordinate Hesi hazardous waste pick up and completing necessary documentation.
Ensure the laboratory is inspection ready and maintaining overall lab cleanliness.
Sterilization of lab glassware and consumables.
Perform other duties as assigned

Punctual and regular attendance is required of all employees
High School diploma required
Experience in a laboratory setting preferred
Strong problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills
Knowledge of basic math concepts and ability to apply them (arithmetic, ratios, proportions and conversions)
Must have strong computer and software skills
This position works in a Research Grade lab setting and may come in contact with various solutions and chemicals and will be responsible for activities related to biological processes such as bacterial growth. This position uses standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, glass ware, shake flasks, fermenters, fume hoods, and computers.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and use arms, hands and fingers for various activities. This position may stand or remain sedentary for long periods of time. This position routinely works with large pieces of equipment.
