The Staff Manufacturing Scientist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for identifying and resolving complex technical issues with current products and qualifies enhancements to existing product configurations.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and will be located in Florence, Kentucky. At Manufacturing Engineering, our vision is supporting LS and DX to achieve manufacturing and quality excellence for a better tomorrow. This is a "hands on" technical position where experience with Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis and Biological product optimization are a plus.

You will report to the Senior Manager Manufacturing Scientist responsible for managing the Manufacturing Engineering Department and part of the leadership team in both Kentucky and Miami Reagents Manufacturing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Effectively resolve complex technical problems and utilize the scientific method as the foundation for problem-solving.

  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations with scientific expertise to ensure robust manufacturing processes, to drive failure investigations of commercialized products, and to support processes to ensure performance within the expected parameters.

  • Supports the validation activities for process improvements and the successful transfer of new products from development to manufacturing at commercialization.

  • Perform comprehensive tests using advanced experimental design and analyze results using statistical data analysis.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ experience, Master’s degree with 7+ years’ experience or Doctoral degree with 4+ years’ experience in the field of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or Chemical Engineering.

  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Requires strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to promote and debate key issues.

  • Problem-solving, with strong attention to detail, and strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
