Are you a Systems Engineer with a passion for identifying problems within specific systems and providing solutions to resolve them ? If so, this is a perfect role for you! Our Beckman Coulter site in Loveland, Colorado is hiring a highly motivated candidate to join its R&D team. We are seeking a Systems Engineer in our Cell Health and Centrifugation Research and Development (R&D) group. This is a system engineering position which entails, modeling the system, defining the requirements, integration/testing of hardware, software and reagents of systems intended to decrease the development time and ultimate cost of Biologic drugs.

This position (while posted in many cities) MUST work ONSITE at our Loveland, CO. Selected candidate permitted to work a few days onsite and a few remotely.

In this role you will:

  • Work within the R&D team to define and design innovative products for Bio Pharma Cell Line Engineering and Cell Line Development Companies.

  • Work with a diverse group of business and engineering disciplines to identify the key parameters and performance metrics for new instruments and applications.

  • Model Transfer Functions between instrument subsystems to identify critical parameters.

  • Model system and data workflows

  • Support a systems approach of testing breadboard and prototype systems and subsystems to address identified needs and requirements.

  • Collaborate with marketing and application associates to identify new features and requirements for products.

  • Translate customer, marketing, and business needs into User Needs and System Requirements.

  • Convert prototype demonstrations into system design architectures, (DFR, DFM, DFS).

  • Identify risks and make recommendations for risk response strategies, (FMEA), including reliability test and measures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline (Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)

Desired Skills & Attributes:

  • Knowledge of Life Science and analytical instrumentation systems.

  • Knowledge of methods for architecting instruments in an R&D environment.

  • Demonstrated history of creativity, innovation, and troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of associated disciplines in the product development process; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Firmware and Software Engineering, Analytical Chemistry.

  • Ability to critically analyze and evaluate data.

  • Methodical troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a commitment to documentation.

  • Ability to model and capture system and data workflows.

  • Advanced understanding of system modeling and system modeling tools

  • Strong Analytical abilities resulting in defendable designs

  • The salary range for this role ($64,000 - $90,000) is min-mid range. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

  • This job is also eligible for 5% bonus/incentive pay.
