Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required
Would you like to support products you feel passionate about? We have an exciting, hands-on laboratory position supporting the LC/MS Reagents & Chemistries Research & Development group! The ideal candidate should be a fast learner, with a strong background in chemical handling, sample preparation, implementing established procedures for analytical testing, and other routine laboratory tasks. Key responsibilities of this position include assisting senior scientists during the development and evaluation of new product designs by carrying out routine laboratory experiments, performing data acquisition and analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. The incumbent will thrive in a fast pace culture that includes a strong cross-functional, team-based approach to product development.
Plan and complete routine laboratory experiments to support new product development and sustainment efforts.
Prepare buffers, mobile phases, samples, and other reagents as necessary.
Maintain documentation of procedures performed, as needed.
Perform sample analysis using LC-MS/MS systems and other analytical laboratory equipment.
Analyze data and present results as requested.
Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for chemicals and supplies, receive and store materials appropriately and safely, and maintain the chemical management database.
Maintain laboratory equipment including performing or scheduling preventative maintenance and calibration as appropriate.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) with 0-2 years of experience in industry, or equivalent.
Experience working in a laboratory setting including the safe handling complex chemical reagents and the preparation and execution of experiments.
Familiarity with multiple analytical techniques, including LC/MS, UV-Vis, etc.
Experience with good documentation practices in a laboratory environment.
Basic knowledge of organic synthesis is preferred.
Familiarity with work in a regulated industry (ISO 9001, 13845 certified, FDA registered) is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
