This role is a Product Management opportunity that will be responsible for low-flow LC (micro and nano) and OEM LC products within SCIEX’ portfolio of LC/MS Systems. The LC Product Manager establishes clear business justifications for projects, represents the voice of customers to prioritize product requirements, handles product lifecycle, defines value propositions, establishes pricing and discount policies, and ensures quality products that meets customer’s needs. A strong understanding of product management and market research standard methodologies is required. This role will require significant collaboration with R+D teams as well as the Marketing and Business unit functions within SCIEX. In addition, the you will be able to work efficiently with external companies while balancing SCIEX commercial needs and confidentiality. The candidate will need to be able to function in a fast paced environment in a lean organization and should be willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure the job gets completed.
Main position objectives:
Take ownership, drive decisions and accountability for the low-flow LC Systems
Manage the entire product life cycle for low-flow LC Systems
Manage SCIEX’s portfolio of OEM LC Systems and the vendor relationships
Work cross-functionally with R+D, Sales, Marketing, and Business Units to support the execution of projects and manage the existing portfolio of products
Manage product development road map for low-flow LC systems to ensure portfolio alignment and meet the needs of the target markets.
Interact with key internal and external customers globally to understand problems, obtain feedback on new and existing products, and identify solutions.
Conduct market research to find opportunities for current and future products.
Synthesize customer input to deliver to product development team and identify user and buyer personas, user needs, and product roadmap
Provide leadership and direction for all internal associates and external partners responsible for the project to ensure projects are successfully completed on time and consistent with organizational goals
Ensure alignment of the low-flow LC portfolio within the broader LC/MS portfolio in terms of capability alignment and market focus.
Handle OEM LC products and to ensure alignment of the needs of target markets
Lead vendor relationship to ensure accurate forecasting, inventory, and support.
Manage OEM LC roadmap to align with SCIEX’s overall roadmap.
Manage sustainment activities that require both external vendor and SCIEX resources.
Ensure all key content and documentation is up-to-date.
Ensure organizations have training content to support OEM LC products.
Accountable for key aspects of product commercialization to ensure success in meeting revenue goals.
Project management of internal efforts required for product commercialization, including working with Quality Management Systems, R&D, external corporations, and other related roles.
Organize and drive activities cross functionally related to global product launch, including developing positioning, sales training, pricing and collateral development to ensure product launch execution.
Determine if sales training and tools are adequate and complete post launch, and drive activities to fill any remaining gaps
Owns the marketing specifications for the low-flow LC Systems and is responsible that the balance between competitiveness and achievability is maintained to ensure the future sales performance of the products.
Owns pricing and discounting structure for the low flow LC Systems and coordinates with Sales Operations to ensure price lists and discount matrix are accurate and communicated to the field organization.
Develop Business Plans and achieve organizational alignment for future products.
Evaluate business opportunities on return on investment and margin effects.
Run updates to product roadmap considering priorities, resources, and competitive landscape.
Present business cases to VPs and President for new product development.
Supervise business and ensure tactical execution is on track to meet revenue, profitability and strategic goals.
Monitors financial performance (funnel development, revenue, profitability, and AUP) both at and after market, and establishes Key Performance Indicators for the product’s financial performance and come up with measures when performance is not met.
Tracks the competitive landscape, monitors competitors activities and performs win/loss analysis to derive the right conclusions and countermeasures for tactical marketing campaigns and next generation of products.
Monitors the product quality develops countermeasures when targets for product quality are not met.
Handle customer, client, and support functions expectations of product and services.
Manage full product life cycle including product end-of-life (EOL) in alignment with business needs.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Marketing, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree a strong plus
Demonstrated intimate knowledge of Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry or similar experience preferred
Product management and/or market research experience required
Ability to perform exceptionally in fast paced, performance oriented environment
Experience working in a global environment
Experienced influencer capable of managing large teams without direct management responsibilities
Proven ability to influence decisions across all levels of an organization, including executive level
Strong time management skills. Ability to multitask and manage competing tasks and changing business needs.

This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites globally, with additional travel to trade shows and SCIEX sites (maximum 30%).
