Are you ready for the next step in your career? You, the Software Technical Specialist, will maintain an extensive technical understanding of the SCIEX product portfolio (instruments and software) in order to support direct customer interactions during a pre-sales process. This role will also be required to perform software product demonstrations to potential customers remotely or onsite (as needed) that is specific to the customer’s software and application needs. Finally, conduct webinars and contribute content to community posts on the website. This person will understand customer needs as it pertains to workflow/applications, market problems and competitive environment in order to define the best customer solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the commercial sales team to drive standalone software sales YOY in the North America

  • Support generation sales content around software and software workflow

  • In collaboration with marketing, execute plans that will drive demand and impact the win rate for the stand alone software

  • Conduct software workflow demonstrations to customers during the sales process

  • Build and deliver technical presentations (remotely and/or live) on software and software workflow

  • Work with the various business units and marketing team to help identify new business opportunities, define new product requirements, develop value propositions and ensure success during new software product introductions

  • Support lead-generation programs that enable the attainment of sales goals for stand-alone software business

  • Develop promotions as necessary to help support the growth of our software business

  • Provide support and training to customers on software and software workflows as required

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in life sciences

  • Any software programming experience is a key advantage

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel required/Valid Passport/Valid Driver's License:

  • Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography, up to 50% overnight travel may be required.

  • Experience in Life Science and/or Mass spectrometry instrumentation experience is preferred

  • Hands-on familiarity with the SCIEX Software and Product portfolio is a must

  • Solid laboratory skills and good troubleshooting skills is required

  • Previous experience with Oracle and Sales Force system preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills, time management and ability to compile and present data.

  • Collaborate with other functional and business leaders to ensure Voice of the Customer is heard at the global, regional, product and business unit levels

  • Partner closely with colleagues in field sales and field service to develop and implement successful account strategies
