Intabio, now a part of Sciex, develops technology that is revolutionizing the way biopharmaceutical drugs are developed and produced. We have assembled a stellar team of innovators known for creating groundbreaking technologies for molecular characterization and drug discovery. Our first product, the Blaze™ system, provides high-throughput detection and identification of subtle protein modifications via cIEF-MS.
We are currently seeking a Surface Chemist to join a team developing a microfluidic consumable for cIEF-MS. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work with outstanding scientists and engineers in a highly multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on skills in surface modifications and characterization, assay development, and methods for studying interactions between biomolecules and surfaces. Experience with microfluidic devices and strong data analysis skills are also required.
Development of novel surface coatings for microfluidic IEF
Characterization of functional surface and defects, including application of surface analysis techniques, and assay development
Surface reagent characterization and incoming reagent analysis
Design and execution of experiments using prototype instruments, including data analysis and interpretation
Development of a scaled-up surface functionalization process and transfer to manufacturing
Generation of design control quality documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field, plus no less than 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree in field with no less than 3+ years of experience OR Ph. D. in field, plus 0-2 years of experience working experience in organic chemistry, surface and/or polymer sciences. Academic experience acceptable.
Demonstrated success in developing surface chemistry for electrophoretic products: glass functionalization, polymer synthesis and characterization, surface, and reagent characterization method development.
Excellent communications and presentation skills.
Prior experience performing and troubleshooting traditional cIEF separations is a plus.
