As an Accounting Specialist for Payroll, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and related activities for associates in the U.S. and Canada. You will provide quality service to internal and external customers, as well as assist in travel and expense reimbursements, audits, and monthly financial closing activities.

In your main role at X-Rite Pantone, you will:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for the U.S. and Canada for both hourly and salaried associates with a variety of work schedules.

  • Validate adherence to policy for timecards, vacation, paid time off and union rules.

  • Ensure proper reimbursement of employee business travel and relocation expenses.

  • Update payroll records and associated documentation for restricted stock units and options exercised.

  • Ensure proper compliance with various legal requirements such as wage garnishments, support orders, third-party sick, etc.

  • Maintain knowledge and resolve payroll tax notifications for delinquency, overpayment, and rate changes for state income and unemployment taxes.

  • Validate and issue all year-end payroll tax records, such as W2s. Issue updated documentation as necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls.

  • Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with record retention policy.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as requested.

Your Background Experience will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably utilizing ADP.

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

  • High proficiency in PC applications (Excel, Word) as well as general administrative skills.

  • Attention to detail and strict adherence to internal and external deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, adapt to new situations and apply critical thinking to solve problems.

  • Demonstrated team-player with commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Ability and desire to undertake future leadership opportunities.
