As a Credit Manager, you will lead the U.S.-based credit team with overall responsibility for the credit and collection activities of customers generally located in the Americas. This position also includes management of assigned customer accounts and exposure to global credit and collection activities.
In your main role at X-Rite Pantone, you will:
Build and strengthen relationships with customers, the sales organization, and other internal teams to improve the depth and timeliness of risk analysis information. Collaborate with internal and external customers to determine issues impacting transactions and/or relationships with accounts.
Perform account reconciliation and research to conduct accurate customer communication and collection. Determine strategies to improve customer terms.
Manage incoming sales orders to evaluate if orders should be released or held. Advise customers and internal business partners on held orders, implementing strategies to resolve credit hold and establish strategies to prevent or minimize future occurrences. Maintain accurate customer information in ERP and credit/collection systems.
Supervise and develop the U.S.-based credit team. Monitor past due accounts and ongoing collections to coach and guide team members. Evaluate and inspire team members to grow.
Prepare and review monthly reporting of open accounts receivable, cash collections and uncollectible accounts. Develop and improve the monthly forecast of cash collections.
Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls and corporate policies. Provide documentation as required for internal audits.
Your Background Experience will have:
2-year associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required, 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in business to business credit and/or collection function, preferably in a manufacturing environment along with 3 years of supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
High proficiency in both ERP and Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word).
Attention to detail and strict adherence to internal and external deadlines
Ability to work independently, adapt to new situations and apply critical thinking to solve problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management, staff and both internal and external customers.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate with customers in a pleasant yet firm manner.
