We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to work in a hybrid model in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a key role within the North American HR team. This role is HYBRID with 2-3 days in the X-Rite HQ office in Grand Rapids and the other days remote. WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Support our US X-Rite and Pantone associate base and partner with people leaders to provide HR Functional expertise in the areas of employee relations, compensation, engagement, development, and performance management.

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations

  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements

  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs

  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee experience

  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required

  • Oversee administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance

  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters

  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and contributes to the development of policies.

  • Own recruiting for hourly Operations Associates including writing job descriptions, attracting diverse talent, leading interviews, and creating offers; use our Workday HRIS system throughout the talent acquisition process.

  • Own US immigration process and provide consultation to managers in this area.

  • Work in an office environment 2-3 days per week. Up to 25% travel may be required, including to the Pantone HQ site in Carlstadt, NJ.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO IS/HAS:

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, etc., which govern employment policies and practices

  • Broad understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards, with subject matter expertise established within at least one core area (e.g. Engagement; Employee Relations; Training)

  • Experience implementing programs across geographically-distributed teams

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas

  • Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator

  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues

  • Ability to operate and drive results and set priorities independently

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or Business Administration required. PHR is a plus.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a generalist role, total HR experience minimum 7 years.

  • Lean Principles, Project Management, and Change Management experience is a plus.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
