This individual will directly supervise the area team leads and 25 – 30 operations associates. Additionally, this position will be responsible for setting the vision with the Focus Factory Manager to meet or exceed SQDIP targets.
Essential Job Functions:
• Manage production operations & support the Team Leads execution of staffing plans; Designate and communicate personnel assignments to optimize resource utilization to achieve schedule commitments and assure delivery dates and customer demands are met • Lead daily Instruments SQDIP (daily management) stand-up meeting • Ensure a safe, ergonomic & clean work environment through use of the Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools; Conduct regular safety & 5S audits and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken including follow-up investigations for all safety • Oversee & actively participate in the use of “lean manufacturing tools” to support continuous improvement throughout Kaizen efforts; Develop kaizen roadmap and lead kaizens to achieve SQDIP metrics. • Lead cultural change that impacts employee engagement and drives results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Associate Engagement within the Fabrication Focus Factory. • Lead Associate Engagement feedback sessions, develop & implement improvement plans • Interface as necessary with other departments and individuals to ensure open communications for resolution of operational needs • Ensure quality products are produced by improving manufacturing processes through training & education • Ensure area maintains ISO “ready” compliance for all operations, methods, tooling, processes, work instructions, test equipment and training • Utilize appropriate tracking & measurement systems designated by the company in order to perform all personnel-related functions, including but not limited to; Performance Appraisals (develop team through growth and development actions), Associate Time Card System, SQDIP board maintenance and applicable countermeasure action, and adherence to Company Policies & Procedures. • Monitor day-to-day budget expense spending for achievement of business results • Ensure compliance for all Hazcom & OSHA regulations including necessary training • Other duties as assigned
•A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Concentrations include; Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business. •At least three (3) years’ of relevant and progressive operations experience including manufacturing operations preferably assembly environments with high mix low volume. Knowledge of a variety of operational excellence competencies including yet not limited to: Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System Tools: Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Policy Deployment, One-piece Flow, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Six Sigma. •Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation/facilitation skills •Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and decision making skills • Effective project management and problem solving skills • Demonstrated leadership skills with a practical, “roll-up your sleeves” style • Ability to multi-task, work independently and effectively with a team across multiple functions within operations • Ability to execute tasks with high attention to detail and ability to work in areas of high ambiguity • Ability to effectively deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change • Effective at driving change and managing teams to achieve desired results • Ability to successfully lead, direct and support a team, in a matrix organization, from multiple disciplines and/or companies •Ability to perform the above mentioned essential job functions
