About the role
Working within the procurement team, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for evaluating the “best in class” processes in the area of procurement and implement improvements for the overall procurement process. This is a unique role and 70% of time will focus on the ERP system implementation of Infor LN and 30% special project work throughout the purchasing department. What a great opportunity to step outside of the day-to-day operations of purchasing and have influence on the business and processes!
Responsibilities
Ensures process is documented, validated , and sustained
Understand the impacts, considerations and relationships between processes and negotiate process conflicts with respective process owners
Works with the project team to implement the process in the LN system
Perfo rms testing, gap analysis, simulations and validation of the process in the LN system
Ensures work instructions are complete where applicable
Communicates with process stakeholders for validation, approvals and change management
Supports cross functional sourcing projects
Analyzes requisition requirements, evaluates bids, and awards contracts to the best qualified suppliers
Participates in and support negotiation of purchases and supplier agreements
Identifies and implements cost savings and process improvement opportunities through ongoing review of spend categories
Develops new ways to optimize improve and solve problems in the supply chain as they arise
Are you qualified?
3 – 5 years experience in Procurement and with formal ERP systems (SAP, LN, BaaN, MIS)
Post - secondary education in related field preferred
Knowledge of Lean tools related to Procurement
Familiarity with e - procurement / e - sourcing applications
Experience working with product lifecycle management, document control, and enterprise quality management systems
