Danaher Corporation Senior Desktop Analyst in Guildford, United Kingdom

As a member of the IT department, the Senior Desktop Analyst will work with other members of the team to take ownership of the completion of escalated service desk tickets. This is a specialist role within the team, with accountability for supporting the ITSM team to close escalated 3rd line calls. You will also play a part in ensuring systems and network availability for all system users and performing necessary maintenance to support system and network availability. You'll be assisting other support team members to plan, coordinate, and implement system and network security measures.

The Senior Desktop Analyst will have excellent interpersonal skills and an organized approach, with the ability to adapt and respond to ad-hoc queries in a timely manner.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with demonstrable system and network experience to work in a global environment utilising their specialist skills to help deliver first-class IT support to global IDBS employees on a wide variety of system and network issues. Guidance and on-the-job training will be given as required.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System and network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, internet access, office systems and applications support);

  • Supporting server, network and desktop hardware, software and application service desk tickets;

  • Providing technical support for the ITSM on Network/Server Environments.

  • Testing applications for environmental compatibility;

  • Be at the forefront of all Server/Network escalated calls information to the unit from 1st stage to completion;

  • Serve as additional technical resource to the unit;

  • Acting as a liaison for the computing operation, communicating, resolving, and/or initiating the resolution of problems and concerns;

  • Working with hardware vendors to resolve equipment failures/problems;
