Danaher Corporation User Experience (UX) Designer in Guildford, United Kingdom

Our UX designers work in collaboration with agile software development teams of development and test engineers, product owners and product managers. They bring analytical, creative and design skills to our Agile team to ensure we build awesome products.

Understanding how IDBS applications’ users want to instinctively interact with the software to get their research and laboratory management tasks done – while ensuring our customers have a great experience using IDBS products - is what makes our UX designers special.

As part of our ongoing growth, we have an opportunity in our team for a new UX designer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to guide product owners, product managers and software engineers in the development of new products and features using an iterative design process that incorporates regular feedback.

  • Building and presenting UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, journeys) whilst embedded within an agile engineering environment.

  • Ensuring the voice of our users is at the heart of everything we do by developing deep user insight and understanding that is data driven.

  • Provide informal mentorship to team members across the software engineering organisation.

We're looking for you to showcase:

  • Experience of conceptualizing, delivering and optimising outstanding web application experiences.

  • Excellent knowledge of UI design software such as Sketch and Invision.

  • Experience of working in an agile software development environment.

  • The ability to prioritise issues and deadlines, with creative and problem-solving skills.

  • Engaging communication skills, representing users in a straightforward way and listening to feedback from others. A key skill is to be able to explain why one design works and why another design does not.

  • A collaborative working style with a passion for execution and results with high levels of attention to detail.

  • Life science market and industry knowledge would be an advantage, as would a degree (or equivalent) in a design or scientific/engineering subject.

Want to join our growing team that is helping our customers do incredible work? We look forward to your application!
