What you’ll do
Analyze the customs broker reports and other data reports/resources to identify and isolate opportunities to use FTA savings and then capitalize on findings to take initiative to the direct material suppliers for solicitation of Certificate of Origin (CoO’s).
Resolve issues around “Parts Solicitation” of identified OEM parts with parts suppliers for CoO.
Follow classification SOPs to ensure accuracy of all relevant General Rules of Interpretation, General Notes, and Custom Rulings cited. Ensure records are maintained; drawings, technical information, and other supporting data to achieve a high level of classification accuracy
Review bills of material, technical materials, drawings and other literature to ensure accurate classifications are assigned; assign classifications to parts on bills as required.
Responsible for the origin determination system maintenance (trackers and reports) and record-keeping for the organization's product for all relevant Free Trade Agreements, including price reviews, Cost Analysis Sheet creation.
Maintain electronic records for Special Programs, organization's classification, and CoO through Global Trade System and other databases. Maintain Special Program Matrix for audit of FTA Certificates issued by suppliers.
Interpret and guide regulatory related to FTA qualification and Rules of Origin (RoO) applicability.
Work with internal clients and external suppliers on issues related to parts origin information and classification assisting information.
Review accuracy of existing tariff numbers by analyzing data supplied by the client.
Review outside supplier assigned Tariff Schedule numbers for accuracy, updating the mainframe system
Acts as the FTA Subject Matter Authority and co-work with FTA operations and specialists.
Who you are
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in Electronics, Chemicals, Mechanical /equivalent.
Experience of 5 to 10 years to Origin and Preference determinations using RVC and CTC methods, in which a minimum of 2 years in excel, macros/VBA development is preferred
Exposure to Global countries' Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Experience to work with cross-functional and distributed teams
Technical knowledge of FTA applied in the Global Trade market, RoO, and determination of preference based on RoO.
Understanding rules and regulations involving WTO and WCO.
Qualification in International Trade, Customs classification process.
Exposure to International ITAR and US Export control classification
Experience in Data extraction through SQL queries #LI-VK1
