As a strategic partner, the Assistant Global Controller will support our global controllership function as well as our financial operations in Americas, EMEA and Asia. Successful candidates will possess superior analytical skills, project management expertise, and strong technical acumen and will report to the Senior Director, Global Controller of SCIEX.
Supervise and lead all facets of the global consolidation and financial close process.
Provide timely and accurate consolidated information to support internal reporting requirements as well as monthly, quarterly and annual corporate reporting requirements. Review monthly regional results, analyze balance sheets, investigate anomalies, and monitor complex transaction execution.
Coordinate and support corporate activities and initiatives with counterparts in Americas, Europe and Asia.
Drive global finance projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, increasing standard work and creating global processes to leverage standardization and develop finance bench.
Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of a strong SOX-compliant control environment including participation in the balance sheet review process and anti-corruption self-testing process.
Champion Corporate and OpCo compliance requirements including SOX, regional financial integrity reviews and enforcing company policies.
Support business audits conducted by external and internal auditors, as required.
Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting issues at the OpCo level as well as act as a US GAAP technical resource to financial operations as required. Draft whitepapers to support accounting positions and related conclusions.
Assist in the maintenance and development of internal authorization levels including compliance with the Approval Authority Matrix.
Participate in site visits to resolve specific accounting and operational issues while also educating finance associates on Company policies and procedures as well as US GAAP requirements.
Assist in the in the seamless integration of acquisitions including financial due diligence, purchase accounting and post-acquisition integration activities.
Provide support to financial operations in the areas of general accounting, credit & collections, accounts payable, cash management, service accounting, revenue recognition, cost accounting, commercial support, planning & forecasting, and any other accounting/finance related activities deemed appropriate.
Act as a business partner to support functional areas providing accounting, financial and business analytic support, as required.
Work closely with the FP&A function in business support and analysis, as required.
Advocate and champion continuous improvement within the functional area as well as throughout the organization. Participate in Kaizens / skill development opportunities across the platform and throughout the broader corporation.
Education and Required Experience:
Ten or more years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles including recent experience at the global Controllership level, preferably in a $1B+ multinational or publicly traded organization.
Industry knowledge of Life Sciences is strongly preferred as well as manufacturing operations. Shared Service Center experience is a plus.
BS in Accounting is desired, CPA & MBA preferred
Must have demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP coupled with controllership function and the ability to manage others in a fast-paced, success-driven organization.
SOX, compliance, and audit experience is required as well as use of standard financial reporting tools especially Oracle / Hyperion Enterprise
Must be a team player and drive for results. Ability to mentor and lead in a global environment is critical
Ability to travel both domestic and international up to 25%
