To support the Biotech Product Engineering group in the technical aspects of Cassette Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM), within NPI, Sustaining and Process/Product Improvements and specific processes as required. The job holder will be required to write a series of validation documents which should be robust against external audits. Lead product design / process reviews, validation studies, DOE’s, product failure investigations, problem-solving and change management activities, in accordance with Pall procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Introduce new Filtration products by coordinating with R&D, Marketing and Manufacturing in accordance with the Stage Gate Process or Redevelopment of existing products post launch based on volume or other needs.

  • Facilitate critical raw material changes while maintaining product quality & customer supply, internally & externally.

  • Responsible for managing product changes at resident site to the current portfolio & support products through their lifecycle

  • Manage and execute local manufacturing process transfers or capacity expansions in line with Pall procedures.

  • Solve problems by using 6 sigma tools, trend analysis, Design of Experiments, FMEA, process risk assessments etc.

  • Support the design and process Risk Assessment process on product developments / improvements.

  • Strong focus on continuous improvement of products and processes, locally & globally.

  • Write detailed validation protocols for FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, execute accordingly and generate completed validation reports.

  • Collate and provide quality performance sustainment data in support of new product introductions, line transfers, product improvements and material qualifications.

  • Liaise with local raw material suppliers and equipment vendors.

  • Contribute to cross functional team meetings for assigned projects; present concise data summary, conclusions and recommendations.

Other duties:

  • Lead investigations into non-performance of products – internal & external.

  • To contribute towards the optimization of production methods.

  • Any other reasonable requests that makes use of the job holder’s skills, experience and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 3 yrs relevant experience.

  • Any formal training and qualification in Six Sigma techniques would be an advantage

  • 2-3 years Validation experience - Medical device or Bio-Pharmaceutical Industry preferred

  • Experience with formal change management systems an advantage

  • Experience within a Product development or New Product Introduction environment would be a valuable asset

  • Knowledge of new product development & product / process improvement techniques.

  • Knowledge of process validation procedures and techniques, e.g. Process and product FMEA, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, parts and process capability studies.

  • Able to write Factory Acceptance Tests and validation (IQ, OQ and PQ) documents for new products, processes and equipment.

  • Desire to solve problems and ability to analyse complex data.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications and Minitab, knowledge of SAP an advantage.

  • Support projects with ‘hands on’ work, either material, process, product or destructive analysis – as required

  • Ability to work as a team member or to lead teams towards completion of projects.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize workload

  • Able to work under pressure to fixed deadlines.

  • Knowledge of workshop and Health & Safety working practices.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
