The Principal Supply Chain Engineer-Cold Chain position focuses on driving outstanding results across the global supply chain through the development, management and execution of cold chain strategies and processes. The successful candidate will have hands on expertise developing and executing global cold chain programs and protocols in a heavily regulated perishable product environment. This role is responsible for developing and sustaining robust, cost effective solutions and processes. The role requires a high degree of partnership with Global partners including, but not limited to: Logistics and Distributions, Finished Goods Planning, Manufacturing Package Engineering; Quality/Regulatory; Commercial; Procurement; and Finance.

This position is an integral part of the supply chain logistics team and will be located in Hebron, KY. The role reports to the Senior Director, Supply Chain and Logistics.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Acts as Business leader and process owner for global product delivery system solution, including serving as the business lead for cold chain performance management.

  • Leads global lane monitoring program; including data collection, chairing cross-functional reviews, continuous improvement execution and ownership of action plans.

  • Develop, present and execute a funnel of strategies and tactics to reduce cost-and supply risk through disciplined analytics, trending, modeling

  • Drive continuous improvement in global cold chain performance, including the reduction of temperature excursions and scrap.

  • Develops comprehensive and sustainable shipping controls, processes and methodologies, including but not limited to: new packaging - options, internal configuration options, packaging cost analysis, transport lane analysis, package design change and shipping configuration change impact analysis, temperature control validation, time & conditions transit tracking.

  • Performs impact assessment on new or changing capability, including impact to GDP, Chain of Identity/Chain of Custody, SOPs, Training, SOX, and Data Integrity.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, (Master’s Degree highly desired), with concentration in Thermal Dynamics; Packaging Design, etc.

  • 9+ years total experience in Package Engineering/Cold Chain Logistics field with thorough knowledge of GMP, GDP and Supply Chain systems and processes, or 7+ years with Masters

  • Preferred experience in Pharma, Med device, BioTech, FDA regulated industries.

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Data visualization (MS Power BI or similar) skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience managing change in a global matrixed organization

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills at all levels of the organization and customer environment.
