For our R&D Hardware team located in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a Development Engineer Electronics (m/f/d).
In this exciting role you will work on new system development with focus on electronics and collaborate closely with other project teams in the development of innovative, market-driven products for medical and industry applications.
Your areas of responsibilities will include:
Development of firmware in compliance with the applicable medical standard
Development of electronic solutions according to specifications
Implementation of the product specification as part of the Leica innovation process
Combining market requirements with technical solutions
Creation of project and product documentation
Regular communication with suppliers and manufacturing
Your Qualifications:
Education (Technical College Degree) or studies in the field of Electronics (Software and/or Hardware Development)
3+ years of hardware development experience, ideally with Altium Designer
Experience in electronics and firmware development using C and C++
Implementation of small applications based on GUI libraries like .NET or Qt
Experience in development for Embedded Systems (cross building, deploying and debugging)
Project management knowledge
Basic knowledge of precision mechanics, optic and camera would be beneficial
Proficient in English. Knowledge of German is a plus
Creative problem-solving approach, flexibility and independent working style
Proactive personality with "hands-on" mentality
Travel ability up to 10 % to Asia or within Europe
