Danaher Corporation DBS Leader, Business Operations F/M in Hoegaarden, Belgium

The DBS Leader, Business Operations will work with business partners across the region to drive continual process improvement. As a member of the Business Operations Team, this individual uses the tools and methods of DBS to solve problems and implement process improvements to achieve key business objectives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support Customer Service, Business Operations, Master Data Management and Contracts Administration teams to drive process improvements whilst working closely and effectively with the Commercial Team, Logistics, Demand Planning, Finance and Technical Service.

  • Complete annually a DBS Capability & Commitment Assessment for Business Operations. Implement action plan and sustain through a strategic DBS Roadmap aligned to business priorities

  • Drive continuous improvement of results by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and change management processes.

  • Install, facilitate and coach Visual Daily Management at Gemba. Drive improved performance with critical KPI teams by defining action-oriented Visual Daily Management that includes leading and lagging indicators.

  • Facilitate and lead teams in everyday Problem Solving (PSP). PSP knowledge to be gained through the PSP 101 class, PSP certification and everyday use of PSP.

  • Create and lead prioritized Business Operations Kaizen Funnel process to close appropriate KPI 'gaps' and demonstrate ability to identify, prioritize and improve the 8 wastes and address through practical kaizens which improve targeted KPIs

  • Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen projects. Ensure the effective sustainment of results and support problem solving as needed to close gaps to targets.

  • Identify and benchmark best practices from across regions and other Danaher locations, standardizing, sharing and incorporating these across the region

  • Develop DBS talent in Business Operations through the implementation of a comprehensive training roadmap and mentoring / coaching of associates and leaders

  • Train and install across Business Operations EMEA foundational capabilities in Visual Daily Management, Problem Solving process, Value Steam Mapping, Standard Work and Voice of Customer in order to sustain process improvement. Augmenting this with other sources of training and coaching (Cepheid DBS team, DHR DBSO, outside sources)

  • Achieve Certified Practitioner status in a minimum of one Fundamental DBS tool

  • Effectively drive transformational organizational change and support change management activities

This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 8+ years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of related work experience OR

  • Doctoral degree in field with 3 years of related work experience

  • Demonstrated DBS success at a Danaher OpCo and ability to transfer learnings and experience to Cepheid or demonstrated prior experience outside of Danaher in Lean, Kaizen, Problem Solving or Six Sigma

  • Ability to analyze capabilities, identify root cause and tool opportunities; has the skills necessary to be seen as credible by peers and managers

  • Proven ability to deliver business results

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a manager’s point of view; effective at structured problem solving and critical thinking

  • Ability to work effectively with many functions and stakeholders in the implementation of the DBS roadmap; successfully drives change, handles conflict / ambiguity

  • Mastery of fundamental DBS and continuous improvement tools or non-Danaher equivalents

  • Superior skills in communications, training / adult learning, consulting / influencing; teamwork across disciplines, regions, and cultures

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management and action plan development and execution

  • Experience managing people and/or projects

  • Fluency in English mandatory

  • Fluency in any other languages (e.g., German, Spanish, French, Italian etc) is a plus

  • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments including experience of facilitating virtual trainings
