Danaher Corporation Senior R&D Design Engineer in Hoegaarden, Belgium
The Senior R&D Design Engineer works within the team to own the design and development of hardware and disposable devices for the Biopharmaceutical market.
Create design specifications for projects based on customer requirements.
Help to improve the designs of our existing devices.
Build new designs, both mechanically and in some areas electrically, providing benefits and/or solving problems.
Identify and select relevant raw materials (plastics and steel), components, manufacturing/assembly processes (injection moulding, thermoforming, sheet metal, machining…) and suppliers vital for the realization of the products.
Follow-up, check and challenge suppliers’ progress.
Responsible for user documentation of products and of the systems (mechanical and electrical drawings, technical specifications, FAT/IQ/OQ).
Provide practical and technical assistance to other engineers also outside local organization in design, assembly, manufacturing and maintenance tasks.
Listen, understand, translate internal and external customers’ requirements (VOC).
Work in close collaboration with team members and other departments like internal sales, sourcing, quality, etc.
Feed innovation and actively supply to innovation database.
Mentor other more junior engineers.
Serve as a specialist on your field/products and challenge the technical concepts of your colleagues.
Supports bringing the global automation strategy to practice.
Define validation protocols and testing regimes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experiences:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Around 7 years validated experience
Knowledge of 3D CAD modelling to cover aspects such as plastic designs, assemblies, sheet metal, welding constructions, etc.
Willingness of Continuous Improvement
Proficient in English
