Description
Reporting to the Production Manager, your key role will be to manage the day to day running of the Spares Cell, including direct supervisory responsibility for your team. You will also be responsible for running the Cell effectively, removing bottle necks and ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Production targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Team management and development including PDR reviews and development planning
  • Absence and Holiday management of your team, along with co-ordination with other Operations areas
  • Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity measurement and reporting at daily QDIP meetings
  • Install and Sustain 5S/SWK (Standard Work Kaizens) and lead Kaizen events
  • Install and Sustain TPM (Total Preventative Maintance) in your assigned area
  • Train, coach and certify associates (new/existing and temps) in all aspects of relevant Cell SWK
  • Maintaining Training Matrix in order to comply with internal and external auditing bodies
  • Using problem solving process (PSP) for identifying and fixing quality issues
  • Ensure on time delivery to customer is met
  • Identifying and fixing (PSP) productivity/bottleneck issues
  • Repairs of faulty Cell products where necessary
  • Identify training gaps and work with Production Manager to close

Qualification
Desirable - Minimum 5 GCSE's at grade A-C including English and Math's Work Experience * Direct Leadership of a Team within a Manufacturing Environment * Experience of demand management in a make to order environment
* Experience of managing safety critical processes * Experience in cross training associates
Knowledge & Skills * Strong IT skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint * Excellent analytical and Problem Solving Skills
* Use of Daily Visual Management tools
* Active knowledge of Lean Tools (Visual Management,Single piece flow, SMED, TPM, Kanban, Heijunka, Kaizen)
* Management of improvement plan on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity as per PD/KPI
* Able to apply 5S/SWK tool * People Management Skills Competencies
* Proven ability to lead and motivate teams * Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact positively with people from a number of functions and levels within the organisation * Data driven and process orientated * Time management, scheduling and prioritisation skills
* Ability to make effective decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining extremely high QDIP standards
* Technical problem solving skills
