Pall Corporation is seeking a creative and ambitious Principal Engineer with a passion for photolithography and membrane science to join our Development team in Tsukuba, Japan. This is a fantastic career opportunity to take an active role in discovering and developing next-generation porous filters tailored for semiconductor fabrication processes and contribute to our fast-growing microelectronics business segment.
Your Role as Principal Engineer:
Engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects independent of direct supervision. Provides development leadership within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation and transfer to manufacturing. Contributes to NPD roadmap using application knowledge from Semiconductor OEMs. Role is a part of our growing R&D team at the Manufacturing Center of Excellence for Microelectronics to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.
Leads experiments in the advanced development of filter assemblies and performance testing for cutting edge semiconductor photolithographic processes.
Leads innovation and develops new technologies, builds new ideas that enable New Product Development
Works closely with manufacturing to assure the development of new products can be effectively scaled up and manufactured with high reliability
Utilizes sound fundamentals like Design of Experiments (DOE)
Communicates clearly to leadership, team members, and other key partners.
Works with global teams by overcoming cultural and language barriers
Uses global R&D and engineering resources in other time zones
Participates in teleconferences during off hours
Requires 10% travel both nationally and internationally
BS in Science or Engineering (Graduate Degree highly preferred) with hands on experience in semiconductor fabrication processes related to photolithography required. Additional familiarity with in-line yield and inspection metrology is highly desirable, as is exposure to wet etch and clean processes.
Familiarity with a range of analytical techniques for quantifying filter performance and for analyzing very small quantities of organic and inorganic chemical impurities related to on-wafer defects is highly desirable.
Industrial Research and Development Experience >10 years preferred
Understanding of the hazardous nature of chemicals used during semiconductor processing.
Excellent data analytical skills
Experience with D.O.E., process optimization and scale-up is highly preferred
