Danaher Corporation Principal Engineer in Inashiki-gun, Japan
Engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects independent of direct supervision. Provides development leadership within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation and transfer to manufacturing. Contributes to NPD roadmap using application knowledge from Semiconductor OEMs. Role is a part of our growing R&D team at the Manufacturing Center of Excellence for Microelectronics to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.
Leads experiments in the advanced development of filter assemblies and performance testing for cutting edge semiconductor photolithographic processes.
Leads innovation and develops new technologies, builds new ideas that enable New Product Development
Works closely with manufacturing to assure the development of new products can be effectively scaled up and manufactured with high reliability
Utilizes sound fundamentals like Design of Experiments (DOE)
Communicates clearly to leadership, team members, and other key partners.
Works with global teams by overcoming cultural and language barriers
Uses global R&D and engineering resources in other time zones
Participates in teleconferences during off hours
Requires 10% travel both nationally and internationally
BS in Science or Engineering (MS or PhD highly preferred) with at least 8 years of R&D or product development experience is required.
Experience in product development of electronic materials at OEMs or Material suppliers is required. Preference will be given for Photolithography related chemicals and experience.
Knowledge of Filter Design, Fluid dynamics, Chemical and Hydromechanics, advanced membrane technology and exposure to surface modification of inorganic or organic substrates is desirable
Exposure to advanced semiconductor wafer fabrication processes related to photolithography with hands on experience with track processes is preferred.
Understanding of semiconductor wafer inspection methods and metrology is highly desirable, as is exposure to wet etch and clean processes used in semiconductor fabrication.
Familiarity with a range of analytical techniques to analyze and quantify very small quantities of organic and inorganic chemical impurities related to on-wafer defects is highly desirable.
Experience with process optimization using DOE and process scale-up is highly preferred
