Pall Corporation is seeking a creative and ambitious Engineer of filter product with a passion for photolithography and Wet-Etch Cleaning in semiconductor process and also membrane science to join our Engineering team in Tsukuba, Japan. Your Role as Product Engineer:

Engages in New Product Development of advanced filtration projects and in Modified Product projects. Provides development leadership within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation and transfer to manufacturing. Role is a part of our growing Engineering team at the Manufacturing Center of Excellence for Microelectronics to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.

  • Leads innovation and engineering technologies, builds new ideas that enable Engineered products and Modify Standard products.

  • Works closely with manufacturing to assure the development of engineered products can be effectively scaled up and manufactured with high reliability.

  • Leads experiments in the advanced development of filter assemblies and performance testing for cutting edge semiconductor Photolithography and Wet-Etch cleaning processes.

  • Communicates clearly to leadership, team members, and other key partners

  • Utilizes sound fundamentals like Design of Experiments (DOE)

  • Works with global teams by overcoming cultural and language barriers

  • Uses global R&D and engineering resources in other time zones

  • Participates in teleconferences during off hours

  • Requires 10% travel both nationally and internationally


  • BS in Science or Mechanical Engineering (MS or PhD preferred) with at least 3 years of Engineering or product development experience is required.

  • Preference will be given for Photolithography and Wet-Etch cleaning related chemicals and experience.

  • Language: fluent level for Japanese and business level for English.

Preferred but not required:

  • Knowledge of Filter Design, Fluid dynamics and Chemical and Hydromechanics.

  • Experience in engineering of electronic materials at OEMs or Material suppliers.

  • Exposure to advanced semiconductor wafer fabrication processes related to photolithography and Wet-Etch cleaning with hands on experience with tool processes.

  • Understanding of semiconductor wafer inspection methods and metrology.

  • Familiarity with a range of analytical techniques to analyze and quantify very small quantities of organic and inorganic chemical impurities.

  • Experience with process optimization using DOE and process scale-up.
