Do you enjoy making an impact on a growing business? As Director of Materials & Planning, you will lead product lifecycle management (PLCM), sales & order planning/forecasting (S&OP), global on-time delivery and global inventory management for the Beckman Life Sciences company; and, production planning for its Biotech Operations business! The scope encompasses Key Performance Indicators for sales & production forecast accuracy, on-time delivery and inventory turns performance. The role has accountability for working globally and cross-functionally within and across Danaher operating companies in a highly matrixed organization with the objectives of continuous improvement and achieving global goals.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM)
Drive and develop product obsolescence & discontinuance plans in partnership with sales and product marketing organizations
Align demand and supply plans on New Product Introductions (NPIs)
Develop production, sell-down and scrap plans on obsolete or discontinued products in partnership with sales, product marketing and finance teams
Global Sales & Order Planning / Forecasting (S&OP)
Establish & lead process for alignment of Production, Sales & Inventory (PSI) volumes at senior executive through factory production planning levels of organization
Deliver 0.75-to-1 inventory turn improvement per year across the company’s global manufacturing, service and finished goods inventories
Develop variance reports and problem solve to root causes with permanent countermeasures
Global On-Time Delivery (OTD)
Develop global processes & capabilities to deliver 95+% OTD to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences customers
Perform problem solving and develop and deliver action plans that permanently countermeasure OTD performance issues
Biotech Operations Production Planning
Ensure production capacity and on-hand inventory accomplish OTD and inventory turns objectives with direct responsibility for Indianapolis factory operations and indirect responsibility for factories in San Jose, CA; Loveland, CO; Miami, FL; and, Baesweiler, Germany.
Define daily production rates to enable level-loading of factory demand
Lean Management Practices
Foster a continuous improvement environment that effectively uses daily management to drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity
Improve the performance of value streams by implementing and sustaining lean conversion principles to meet customer requirements
Ensure elements of daily management are evident and sustained including root cause analysis for missed metrics
Lead and engage employees during Kaizens to drive continuous improvements
Lead day and off-shift operations and on-call responsibilities, including weekend shift coverage rotations
B.S. with Minimum of 14+ years’ experience in supply chain & manufacturing; or Masters with 12+ years’ experience in supply chain & manufacturing with 6+ of those years in leadership roles. High mix, low volume environment is strongly preferred.
Proven success working in highly matrixed environments in which high influencing skills are required
Expertise or ability to coach in statistics and statistical process controls
