Are you an aspiring mechanical engineer who desires to work in a collaborative team environment to make an impact? Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ R&D is looking for an intelligent, hardworking mechanical engineer summer intern to join our team this summer. During this internship, you will work hand in hand with a firmware/software intern developing a summer project, along with assisting an extended team of engineers with development tasks.


  • Characterize performance using measurement tools, sensors, and python

  • Design and develop electromechanical assemblies in a collaborative team environment.

  • Evaluate performance of proposed designs. Present project to the team.

  • Perform characterization testing, verification, and validation testing on an existing development project.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one year completed towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Demonstrated experience grasping new concepts quickly, learning new skills, and most importantly applying those new skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Solidworks

  • Experience using Python

  • Some experience machining components
