Beckman Life Sciences is seeking a Product Manager, Consumables! You will have global accountability for positioning, promoting and pricing the portfolio to enable the sales organization to drive competitive share gain. He or she will partner with sales, field and commercial marketing, QRA, service, operations and finance to enable the sales team in the achievement of growth targets.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Develop business cases to initiate investment or change in behavior to achieve long-term revenue and margin growth objectives.
Maintain complete customer insights through qualitative/quantitative market research and robust customer relationships.
Lead user needs/design specification development for new product development and ensure quality/manufacturability/service targets are met.
Develop and communicate product insights, positioning, and value proposition throughout the organization creating alignment around the goals.
Serve as a subject matter expert for product lines and target markets/customers with regular analysis of trends, competitors, channels, standards, etc.
Make product obsolescence and discontinuation decisions for lifecycle management and execute the plan
Develop annual marketing plan and pricing strategy to achieve annual product revenue and margin growth objectives.
Lead third party OEM relationships as needed.
Lead development and execution of targeted marketing messaging/content and sales tools.
Partner with Field Marketing and Commercial Marketing to execute Marketing plan.
Build and leverage market/customer & competitive insights to establish product 0-3 year forecast.
Understands and uses the DBS toolkit including fundamental tools (PSP, SW, 5S), and lean tools (TPI, VSM) to drive KPIs across all product aspects of quality, sales and support.
Create content for fielded products to support campaigns and revenue expectations.
Partner with Quality and Operations on quality and supply issues and own the communication to the commercial teams and customers when necessary.
Education and experience requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent in business, life science, or engineering. MBA preferred.
7- 9+ years’ experience in Product Management, Engineering or commercial departments. May accept less experience with higher degree or internal Danaher experience.
Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
2+ years’ experience within Life Science, Diagnostics or related scientific industry preferred.
