Do you have experience in engineering, life science automation, or a real passion for robotics? If so, come join our Access Solutions Group (ASG) at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences.
The ASG automates life science research workflows by extending the capabilities of our tip-based and acoustic liquid handling solutions. ASG Electrical Engineer will work with our Software, Hardware and System teams to:
Integrate a steady stream of new third-party devices (such as microplate sealers, tube handlers, and detection platforms) onto our systems
Add new accessories or features to our existing liquid handling platforms
Create robotic work cells, building off our library of existing device integrations, as well as adding any newly developed products or integrations
Design systems according to EMC and EHS related requirements
Throughout this process, members of the ASG Engineering team will:
Create and manage the requirements for multiple projects
Help learn how to work with new devices from different vendors
Create and perform tests to ensure our integrations meet the user needs
Generate guides for the end user and Beckman Coulter’s global network of field service personnel
Become specialists in our integration technology, helping our Technical Support team should difficulties arise in solving system issues.
Partner with internal teams to develop standards for integration of equipment to custom automation system
Author and Execute Factory- and Site-Acceptance Test protocols
Assist with system installation at the customer site.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial engineering, or related field with minimum 5 years of job experience.
Solid hands-on skills of communication protocols, PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structure Text, etc.), parts selection, electrical schematic review, and SCADA applications.
Good knowledge of NFPA 79, UL805A, 21CFR 820 rules.
Proficient in using the AutoCAD, e-plan, etc.
Proficient in programming Allen Bradley, direct automation PLC, etc.
Familiarity with tip-based and acoustic liquid handling automation, robotic arms, device integrations is preferable
Travel: up to 20%.
