Description

We are currently looking for an entry level software engineer to join our product development team in Indianapolis. This team designs and builds robotic liquid handling systems and associated software for medical research and laboratory work. The successful candidate will help us develop robust and effective software so that scientists can develop instrument applications for lab technicians to use.

Responsibilities:

· Perform software development work in a collaborative team environment to deliver products that make a difference in people’s lives.

· Assist in collecting customer input, developing concepts, and conducting feasibility studies.

· Participate in all phases of new software development, including requirement specification, design, implementation, software integration, testing, and documentation required to meet company procedures.

· Participate in quality assurance activities such as software deliverable technical reviews, and code inspections.

· Help with software maintenance efforts.

· Support the improvement of the software development process and development cost reduction efforts.

· Recommend or support the implementation of software development tools.

Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree in the same fields with no experience.

· Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

· Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and domains.

· Desire to make software that delights users.

· Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Understanding of the principles of object-oriented programming and functional programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Flexibility to work in any layer of the software stack.

· Interest or experience in the life sciences domain.

· Experience with revision control systems such as git.
