The Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Manufacturing Engineer is the primary process development lead for new product introductions across Beckman Coulter Life Sciences (BEC LS). This position is designated as the key point of contact and collaborate with R&D in mapping out critical product technologies and incorporating design for manufacturability. The position stewards manufacturing ramp-up responsibilities through use of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools in meeting future demand of new instruments and consumables. This role leads all pre-production builds and process/equipment validations required for a new manufacturing area.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Project Manager for all Operations readiness activities during NPI projects, including all Design Transfer work within Design Controls

  • Orchestrate & leads all part reduction and error-proofing efforts during the design & development phases of product development

  • Develops custom test fixtures and tooling to ensure quality product is built/tested

  • Delivers clear, concise and consistent build & test instructions to the production value stream team

  • Sets up and delivers all finished good Bill of Materials accurately within ERP systems

  • Serves as the approving project engineer on custom part drawings/specifications before & during external supplier evaluation

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering is required (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical or Industrial preferred)

  • 5+ years’ experience in life sciences, medical device or similar regulated industry desirable.
