Danaher Corporation Supervisor Transportation Logistics - 2nd shift in Indianapolis, Indiana
Would you like to direct a team and have an impact to our business and customers? The Supervisor Transportation Logistics has responsibility for the incoming and outgoing of materials, reagents, instruments or equipment to meet customer demand which involve receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control. Performs manual and/or clerical duties that may utilize various systems / WMS involved in receipt or preparation of materials for shipment. Performs a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow. Coordinates and supervises workflow, assisting in scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned distribution area. Maintains compliance with relevant local, country and international guidelines.
The core working hours are 1:30p - 9p
Facilitates and leads daily management meetings to review performance metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals for shift.
Analyze root causes and execute countermeasures for daily work challenges.
Ensure that 4E safety guidelines are being updated and followed by all material logistics team members.
Supervises the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material from stock to dock.
Facilitate and ensure the accurate picking of orders being shipped to the customer or our field service team.
Administers the formal annual performance review and provides informal feedback to material handling Associates throughout the year.
Achieves core KPIs set by management, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
Education and Experience
High school degree with 10+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 5+ years of experience
Minimum 4 years of leadership experience or proven supervisory skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and ERP required
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related receiving and put away activities (Kanban procedures, Equipment checklist).
Certified, or ability to be certified on all forklift equipment
Ability to work multiple shifts and occasional weekend shifts during peak season.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for several hours
