Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources you will provide support and mentorship for a variety of HR activities working closely with Managers and employees based in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (approx. 250) to drive HR initiatives within a fast paced, matrix organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing personnel procedures and policies, providing mentorship and interpretation for business operations

  • Coach and support managers in managing performance, talent and development processes including training and presentations

  • Coaching and advising of managers in personnel matters

  • Close cooperation with Works Council in all employee relation matters

  • Consultation and support of the associates in personal relevant questions

  • Participate in development of systems and processes, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements

  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs

  • Support Performance Management Processes (e.g. calibration)

  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience

  • Ensure legal compliance of HR country & internally regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required

  • In partnership with HR Operations team member, prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience

  • Support managers to create robust onboarding plans and ensure all new employees receive best in class onboarding experience

  • Partner with HR Operations to manage all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance

  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters

  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies

  • Work closely with internal Talent Acquisition partners to manage end to end recruitment process from creating requisitions, conducting interviews, determining a compelling compensation package and all related documentation including offer letters, to drive time to fill metrics

  • Act as deputy of Senior Human Resource Manager

  • Ad-hoc projects

Experience and skills:

  • Degree in business administration, business psychology or related qualification

  • More than 5 years of professional experience in the field of HR in a generalist position (HR Officer, HR Business Partner) in an internationally operating group of companies with employees of different hierarchical levels and organizational complexity

  • A very good understanding and experience in HR processes

  • Strong knowledge in employment legislation in Germany as well as labor law and extensive expertise in all HR-related areas are required

  • Very good experience in Talent & Leadership Development

  • Fluent German and English skills; other languages an advantage

  • Excellent MS office and experience with human resource management systems (ideally Workday)

  • High degree of confidentiality and diplomacy

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Organized and structured with good attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize a busy workload and work to deadlines

  • A standout colleague with flexibility, willingness to learn and deal with ambiguity

  • Hybrid working location model: 2-3 days per week in Krefeld and 2-3 home office based
