We are currently seeking Product Owner to join our team in India.

The Role and Objective

The candidate will be responsible for translating product strategy and business priorities into a coherent set of features for one or more software scrum teams. Responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by software scrum teams to ensure value-creating features and functionality to the product and maximizing delivery of business value to customers. Take on multiple roles including business strategist, product designer, market analyst, customer liaison, QA, and project manager. Key member of the team strategizing and presenting the future vision of the product to business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities and key activities

  • Define the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities

  • Domain knowledge on Asset management/ DAM, and Packaging and Color

  • Harness market and technology knowledge to strategize and present vision to business and technology stakeholders.

  • Work with business stakeholders, lead architects, team lead and product managers to understand feature requirements

  • Research, keep current on and analyze markets, competition and technologies, relevant user segments, applications, and the roadmap for the product

  • Provide vision and direction to the software scrum teams and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements

  • Understand product strategy and assess feature development requirements, prioritize stories, epics and themes to align and focus the agile scrum teams for maximum value creation.

  • Manage product backlog. Ensure that the scrum teams always have adequate backlog to work on; Play a leadership role in scrum teams.

  • Write clear, compelling, and detailed (technical) user epics and stories with user acceptance criteria. Participate in story grooming exercises for crisp and unambiguous documentation and communication of features to be developed.

  • Manage and prioritize feature iterations to make trade-offs affecting schedule, cost, quality and customer expectations.

  • Manage and set release expectations for delivery of new functionalities

  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals

  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

  • Follow through execution of epics/stories with the scrum teams. Provide strong participation in Product Demo’s giving unambiguous feedback to aid effective decision making on course corrections

  • Analyze and work with the R&D team to resolve the customer escalations

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with customers, product management, QA, documentation, training, deployment, support and other departments to ensure timely product releases

  • Institutionalize industry standard software engineering processes, practices and methodologies

  • Aid in building team to meet organizational goals

  • Assist in software life cycle activities, especially with quality assurance and release functions

    Qualifications and professional knowledge

  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in Software Product Management/Owner, Software Engineering or related disciplines

  • 3+ years of prior Product Owner experience

  • 3+ years of experience in the domains of Asset management/ DAM, and Packaging and Color

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles, Analytics

  • Experience using SDLC (software development lifecycle) practices and frameworks and backlog management tools (e.g. JIRA/Confluence/etc.) and testing practices

  • Result oriented with strong self-management skills

  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Self-initiative to keep learning new practices and technology trends

  • Attention to detail and eagerness to learn

  • Self-motivated, creative, and flexible

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Prior experience of working in a globally distributed team in different time zones with excellent communication skills

  • Reports to Team Lead, dotted line to Product Management
