We are looking for a DBS Leader (m/f/x) Northern Europe to support the commercial function across the region and work with the business partners to drive continual process improvement and commercial growths. As a member of the North Europe Leadership Team, this individual uses the tools and methods of DBS to solve problems and implement process improvements to achieve key business objectives.

In this role, you will strategically contribute to a holistic strategic and business planning process, consistently supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance of our commercial organization to deliver growth.

Our DBS tools are designed to help us excel in the areas of Growth, Leadership, and Lean, building on a strong foundation of DBS fundamentals (Voice of Customer, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual & Daily Management).

This role can be located remotely or office based in the territory of responsibility which includes DACH, BeNeLux, UK, Nordics, Scandinavia, Poland, Baltics. This position will report to the Senior Director Commercial operations Northern Europe.


  • Support the whole region to drive process improvements whilst working closely and effectively with the different teams.

  • Work closely together with the Commercial leaders to identify areas for improvement where DBS can make a difference.

  • Run and facilitate growth rooms, Kaizens and other meetings

  • Complete annually a DBS Capability & Commitment Assessment. Implement action plan and sustain through a DBS Roadmap.

  • Drive continuous improvement of results by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and change management processes.

  • Install and Facilitate Visual & Daily Management at Gemba

  • Facilitate and lead PSP Teams in everyday Problem Solving

  • Apply the right growth tools across the region

  • Create and lead prioritized Kaizen Funnel process to close appropriate KPI 'gaps.' and demonstrate ability to identify, prioritize and improve the 8 wastes and flow through practical kaizens which improve targeted KPIs for area(s) of focus.

  • Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen projects. Ensure the effective sustainment of results and support problem solving as needed to close gaps to targets.

  • Identify and benchmark best practices from other Danaher locations, standardizing, sharing and incorporating these across the region.

  • Train and install across the whole region foundational capabilities in Visual Daily Management, Problem Solving process, Value Steam Mapping, Standard Work and Voice of Customer in order to sustain process improvement. Augmenting this with other sources of training and coaching (Cepheid DBS team, DHR DBSO, outside sources).


Education or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR

  • Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR

  • Demonstrated DBS success at another Danaher OpCo and ability to transfer learnings and experience to Cepheid. Experience in a commercial oriented DBS role is a plus.

  • Ability to analyze capabilities, identify root cause and tool opportunities; has the skills necessary to be seen as credible by peers and managers

  • Proven ability to deliver business results

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a manager’s point of view; effective at structured problem solving and critical thinking

  • Experience with Funnel Management

  • Ability to work effectively with many functions and stakeholders in the implementation of the DBS roadmap; successfully drives change, handles conflict / ambiguity

  • Mastery of fundamental DBS and continuous improvement tools

  • Superior skills in communications, training / adult learning, consulting / influencing; teamwork across disciplines, regions, and cultures

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management and action plan development and execution

Knowledge and skills:

  • Teamwork - must be able to lead a team(s) of Danaher employees from multiple disciplines and/or companies (Leadership Anchor, Builds People Teams and Organizations)

  • Ability to influence others - must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action on key initiatives (Leadership Anchor, Charts the Course)

  • Technical excellence - must possess the technical skills necessary to be seen as credible in DHR by peers and managers (Leadership Anchor, Leads through DBS)

  • Ability to identify the right balance between tactical and strategical work

  • Knowledge of key fundamental tools: Visual Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen Event Basics, Voice of Customer, or non-DHR equivalents

  • Experience managing people and/or projects

  • Fluency in English mandatory

  • Fluency in a variety of different languages (e.g., German, Spanish, French, Italian etc) is a plus

  • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments including experience of facilitating virtual trainings


  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
