We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Collections Team Lead to oversee and guide our collections team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing daily collections operations, driving team performance, and ensuring the effective recovery of outstanding receivables. You will act as a key liaison between your team and senior management, implementing strategies to enhance collections processes and achieve departmental goals. This role supports North America time zone and working days.

This position is part of the Order to Cash Department, Pall Center for Financial Services (CFS) and will be in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of collections specialists. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and development to enhance team skills and productivity.

  • Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day collections activities, including account management, payment negotiations, and dispute resolution. Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

  • Strategy Implementation: Develop and implement effective collections strategies and processes to improve recovery rates and reduce overdue accounts. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on team performance, collection activities, and account statuses. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to senior management.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and process enhancements. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, implement new tools or technologies, and enhance overall collections effectiveness.

  • Customer Interaction: Handle escalated customer interactions and complex cases, providing high-level support and resolution. Maintain positive relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs for new hires and existing team members. Ensure that the team is well-versed in best practices, compliance requirements, and customer service excellence.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Sales and Finance, to address account issues, align on strategies, and ensure a cohesive approach to collections and customer management.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in collections or a related financial role, with a proven track record in managing teams and driving collections performance.

  • Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Operating knowledge of ERP system – Oracle. Preferred but not mandatory

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Working shift: *This is in line with your appointment role to support the US team.

  • Daylight Saving - from 8.00pm to 5.00am or 11.00pm to 8.00am MYT

  • Non-Daylight Saving – from 9.00pm to 6.00am or 12.00am to 9.00am MYT
