Danaher Corporation Life Science Account Manager- North UK Leica Biosystems ( Temporary 12mths FTC) in Leeds, United Kingdom

We are looking for an Account Manager for the North of the UK to manage our Life Sciences portfolio. The Life Science market is considered as all customers not involved in direct clinical diagnostics and encompasses Pharma, Contract Research Organizations, Universities, and private research laboratories.

You’ll be responsible for driving and delivering double digit gains in revenue and market share, as well as executing the sales strategy for the territory in conjunction with the Life Science Sales Enablement Manager. You will be accountable for the successful execution of this strategy by full and proactive sales cycle activity including prospecting, funnel management, needs analysis, demo management (with technical sales specialists), customer conversion and closing.

In this role, you’ll

  • Identify, qualify & nurture opportunities for all Leica Biosystems products within the defined customer segment.

  • Convert customers onto Leica Biosystems consumable products

  • In collaboration with colleagues, manage the following stage of the opportunities to successfully win them, though technical presentation/demos at customer sites.

  • Own Big pharma/ Big CRO customer segments

  • Identify all key stakeholders in sales projects and then develop and execute strategies and tactics to successfully win business in a way that provides sustained value to both customer and LBS

  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual pipeline, orders and sales targets, strategic and unit sales mix objectives, profit goal and market share goals.

  • Actively manage existing Leica Biosystems Accounts to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and maximize sales potential through repeated business.

  • Develop and maintain an accurate weekly forecast of sales projects substantiated by accurate documentation and planned follow up actions

  • Manage and attend relevant trade shows and customer-focused events e.g. seminars and workshops to actively promote Leica Biosystems products within the life science market

  • Maintain territory-based reference site customers for demo visits by prospective customers

  • Actively input, maintain and manage sales projects and KOL knowledge (connections, platform use, work group, main publications) in SFDC

  • Promote and negotiate service contracts with customers at time of purchase of instruments

  • Continually develop knowledge of products, market and industry trends, competition and customer strategies for potential development

  • Actively participate in development of the territory annual operating plan

What you’ll need to do the job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical field required, MSc preferred

  • Relevant and demonstrable sales/account management experience in a life science environment

  • Proven record of successful selling and exceeding targets in a professional selling environment

  • Experience developing high level, C Suite, relationships in the life science marketplace.

  • High energy performer who operates as part of a team and whose enthusiasm inspires and motivates teams, peers and customers

  • Ability to understand the long term, “big picture” and short-term perspectives
