The Field Service Engineer will provide service and maintenance along with troubleshooting and commissioning of the laboratory instruments in the Leica Biosystems portfolio, including network configuration and implementation of Digital Pathology equipment.

This position is to provide onsite support, with occasional support within the EU where necessary. The ideal location will be Barcelona.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide support to end users to maximize customer satisfaction and to build the reputation of the products in the marketplace

  • Visit customers to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fault analysis, and upgrades to achieve optimum customer care and ensure a professional repair in due time with effective and efficient working practices in line with set KPI’s

  • On site installation of pathological anatomy equipment’s

  • Exchange valuable information resulting from customer contacts to increase customer satisfaction and sales/service administration and communication, competent for our clients

  • Co-operate closely with and support the sales team with tasks such as basic training for customers, installations, demonstrations and system builds

  • Deliver accurate reporting, handling and timely submission of Salesforce reports, Expenses, Spares Stock management and other service documentation

  • Contribute to team goals of Customer Satisfaction, Return Call Rate, Preventative Maintenance Planning, Utilization and Service Financials

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Educated in Mechanical, Electronic or Electronical Technology

  • Basic Knowledge of network configuration and TCP/IP networking components in a Windows environment

  • Proven ability to support electronic systems during entire Product Life Cycle

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with ability to communicate across different levels internally and at customer sites

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • A Field Service role

  • Pathological Anatomy

    Career Progression: It is expected that the Field Service Engineer would have the potential to develop technically either broadly as a generalist or product specific as a specialist. As an alternative, development into other Service or Sales related roles is possible, representing other product groups and/or management responsibility within Leica Biosystems or other Danaher operating companies.
