This position is responsible for general management of Videojet’s Continuous Inkjet global product line driving both revenue and margin growth for the equipment and the associated consumables and service offerings. In direct coordination with Product Planning, Sales, Marketing, Service, Operations, Procurement, R&D, and regions, this individual will ensure quality, profitability, growth and strategic leadership of the assigned product line on a global basis.
What defines success in the role?
This role has global P&L responsibility for the success of the overall Continuous Inkjet business which includes both the equipment as well as ongoing supplies. Success is defined by revenue and profitability growth above market growth rates globally as well as annual unit placements to grow the overall install base.
Equipment Growth and Commercial support- Work with Regional GMs and Regional Product Managers to ensure the sales team achieves the highest possible level of share gain in core markets and penetration in emerging markets and high growth verticals. Lead PSP efforts to identify root cause and counter measure for any performance gaps in product line.
Product positioning and value selling- Work with Regional Product Mgmt., Marketing, and Sales to drive the success of new product launches, ensuring revenue achievement per TG2 screen - volume growth, share gain, and profitability improvement. Help to develop product training material and deliver training to regions on new products and existing portfolio.
Competitive analysis and positioning- Ensure the sales team has the tools and messaging to communicate the value of the Videojet product line to customers. Analyze competitive moves in each region, identify commercial actions that must be taken to ensure the Videojet product line remains in the leading position on price/performance.
Price management – partner with the Pricing team to monitor price performance by product and by region and implement necessary pricing actions. Ensure regions know how to value sell against competition.
Maintenance of line – Champion the implementation of critical feature updates and quality countermeasures to address key product limitations impacting commercial growth potential.
Line change/end of life management – Work with Lifecycle Product Manager on project management of product line obsolescence, ensuring customers are successfully transitioned to new products and protecting overall product line profitability.
Supply chain security – In coordination with Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement, provide business leadership to ensure no customer service disruption due to issues such as vendor insolvency, part/component obsolescence.
Operations Delivery – Work with Operations, Procurement and Sales organizations to ensure customers receive what they want, when they want it. Provide business leadership to allocation process as a temporary countermeasure to supply chain disruptions.
Strategic sourcing partnerships – Partner with procurement team to provide business and negotiation leadership, and senior-level relationship development to strategic partnerships.

Work Experience – a minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in a commercial environment, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a product or marketing management role.
Bachelors (ideally in a technical or engineering discipline) and Masters in Business (ideally with a concentration in general management).
Level of travel required – moderate (as high as 25-40%) across the globe; including regular visits to customers and R&D design centers
