Danaher Corporation EHS Technician in Lodi, California

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the site hazardous waste management program compliance and management systems in accordance with governmental and company requirements.

  • Conduct inspections.

  • Ship materials and hazardous waste as required.

  • Purchase hazardous waste management materials.

  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift.

  • DOT hazardous waste transportation certification required.

  • Partner with Cepheid site leaders to continuously improve the safety culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS programs.

  • Interface with the Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams.

  • Execute EHS management systems programs, inspections and associated documentation.

  • Support environmental compliance metrics including hazardous material management, life safety, hazardous waste management, spill prevention control countermeasures and programs and chemical tracking and inventory programs.

  • Must demonstrate personal integrity and high ethical standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of organization.

  • Ability to solve complex problems by: actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources, consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems, and mastering unfamiliar information, tasks, and situations quickly and effectively.

  • Strong computer-based skills, specifically with Microsoft Word and Power Point programs.

Education and Experience (in years):

  • 3 years of experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety OR

  • Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety.

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong data management and analysis skills.

  • Strong people skills as the position will be required to influence people.

  • Safety Culture through Grassroots Safety.

  • Black or Green Belt Six Sigma.

  • Lean Tools.
